A huge warm welcome to our new team members at Wessex!
Liz – Supervising Social Worker
After completing my undergraduate degree in 2012, I decided I wanted to go on to train as a Social Worker. I spent some time gaining some more experience and had the opportunity to work with young adults with learning disabilities and with the homeless, supporting them to access accommodation. I gained my qualification in 2015 and started off my career working in a busy Child Protection team for a Local Authority.
I have always wanted to work in fostering and feel fortunate to now be working for Fostering Foundation!
Janine – Supervising Social Worker
I have worked with children and families since 1998 starting my career as a Youth Support Worker when I supported children in Local Authority care. I qualified as a social worker in 2004 and since this time I have worked within frontline child protection services in a variety of roles. I have also worked as a Children’s Guardian for five years and I became an Independent Social Worker in 2015 and was employed as a temporary Independent Reviewing Officer for a Local Authority.
I am very excited to have joined The Fostering Foundation and look forward to meeting the carers and young people.
Rebecca – Voluntary support worker
I qualified as a social worker over 6 years ago and have taken time out since to raise my family. I have always had an interest in fostering and The Fostering Foundation have kindly offered me the opportunity to work with them to ‘get up to speed’ once more. I aim to understand and learn all about their assessment and support of carers whilst promoting the needs of children and young people in care.
I am really excited about this opportunity and look forward very much to learning from you all!
