The aim of the group is to provide an opportunity to enable male carers to discuss and explore the rigours and joys of foster care from a male perspective. To maximise this opportunity we have invited clinical psychologist, Nigel Daly, who will help to answer any queries or questions you may have, explore current issues and perhaps stimulate new or alternative thoughts, ideas and perspectives.
Attendees can bring along any questions that they and their partner may have regarding the children in their care or from a general foster carers perspective. Feedback from previous groups is that having both Nick Harrop, Support Worker, and Nigel in support is excellent.
The Male Carers Support Group only takes place twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Autumn. The spring event was very successful and those that attended fed-back it was of high value. This is your opportunity to get ‘hands on’ expert advice and to share views and even have a laugh with other like-mined individuals.
Myself, Nick and Nigel look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day,
