Who Anyone who is interested in fostering with The Fostering Foundation can attend this course. You will need to read our become a foster carer page to make sure you have initial information about fostering and meet our general requirements to become a carer. You then need to contact us with some basic details so that we can book you a space. If you have a friend who is interested in fostering then please let them know this course is running.
What This is a free course based on The Fostering Network Resource. It gives members of the public who are seriously interested in fostering an idea of what being a foster carer entails and the skills needed. The course is run by Debbie Welsford an experienced social worker and foster carer and Heather Jackson social worker and regional director in Bristol.
When The course is run over 3 separate days Friday 14th October, Saturday 15th October and Sunday 23rd October 2016. As this is a course that you need to attend before you can be approved as a foster carer it is a requirement that you (and your partner, if you have one) will attend all 3 sessions if you wish to proceed with an application to foster.
Where Skills to Foster is held in a training room at our office which is on the main road in Kingswood, Bristol. We offer a relaxed atmosphere, professional training and ample refreshments.
