We held our post Eid event to celebrate with all of our Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire foster carers and families.
Everyone was invited to come and enjoy an Indian themed meal (although not exclusively as there were sandwiches, wraps and crisps).
We met at Portishead sea front. The weather was not very good so we waited to allow the rain to pass. We had the tennis court and room. The front door was kept open for ventilation.
Food was laid out on the tables – including Curries provided by Saima and Saadat, an Afghani rice dish made by Saima, samosas and pakora from Bristol Sweet Mart. We had lots of sandwiches, crisps, cakes and fruit.
The young people enjoyed playing cricket and tennis on the courts. The weather dried up which was good and the sun came out. The carers enjoyed mingling and talking. It was a very relaxed event and good to have everyone outside together. Some families went for a walk around the pond and along the sea front which was nearby.
A big thank you to Saadat for organising (as the Portishead local!)
