I joined the Fostering Foundation five and a half years ago as a fostering support worker. I have been working with vulnerable children and their families for 26 years both as a family support worker for Royal Navy and Royal Marine families and as a trained hospital play specialist.
I thoroughly enjoy my work here at the Fostering Foundation working alongside children, young people and their carers along with a dedicated and professional team. I am currently being trained and fully supported by the Fostering Foundation in undertaking a post graduate diploma in Play Therapy having qualified in 2015 as a Therapeutic Play Practitioner with Play Therapy UK (PTUK). This role is an innovative step within the Fostering Foundation in being able offer play therapy to the children and young people placed with Fostering Foundation foster carers at a time where children’s and adolescent mental health services are limited.
I believe that the Fostering Foundation is a forward thinking and innovative organisation which is committed to providing the opportunities to enable children and young people to reach their full potential whilst offering high standards of training and support to their foster carers.
