Rachel and Hamish are Foster Carers based in Plymouth, Devon.
They have been fostering for a number of years but now specialise in parent & child fostering.
This is where you take a parent (or parents) and their young child and support them through their parenting journey.
Most of these placements are short term but often the relationship lasts for some time.
Rachel recounts being invited to a wedding by an ex-placement and the child was at the wedding too.
It doesn’t always work out but sometimes they can see the difference and note that everything is possible.
