The Foundation is a small, independent fostering agency who prides its self on providing a happy, safe and supportive environment for foster carers, children and staff focused.
With offices currently based in Tavistock, Exeter and Bristol The Fostering Foundation are looking for a permanent, senior social worker, a self – starter, who is motivated, driven and career minded, in the Exeter/Devon area to recruit, assess and supervise prospective foster carers. This Senior Social Worker position will be for someone who can work independently, and responsibly, and also work as part of a team.
Ensuring the children we care for are safe, healthy and happy is at the heart of the Foundations standards and values.
As a senior supervising social worker, you will be Social Work England registered and have significant knowledge of the legislation that underpins the role such as the Fostering National Minimum Standards, Fostering and Care Planning Regulations and Working Together to Safeguard Children. You will ideally have experience in child protection statutory services or similar and held a management or staff supervisory role.
Preferably you will have experience of working in a fostering setting with proven written and verbal communication skills
You will be committed to providing a high – quality service to ensure our children and carers reach their full potential whilst managing and leading on the further development of a new service area.
· The recruitment and assessment of carers to “grow” a new and exciting regional service area, working closely with the Recruitment Officer.
· Working towards recruitment targets
· Supervising staff
· Mentor/support less experienced staff
· Work with the management team on the recruitment of staff
· The role may also involve the supervision of independent BAAF F assessing social workers and quality assuring their assessments .
· Liaising with placing authorities/commissioners regarding emerging placement needs
· Provide 24 support on a rota basis to all carers.
· Supervising and supporting foster cares to provide excellent levels of care to children in their care.
· Take the lead in the development and training of foster carers including the delivery of Skills to Foster training.
· Prepare and complete reports, reviews and recordings on a monthly and annual basis.
· Attend where required panel meetings, and conferences.
· Working as part of team in the matching and placing of children with foster cares.
In return the Fostering Foundation provides
· A salary of up to £35,000 plus £3600 per annum car allowance
