The Senior Management Team at The Fostering Foundation have a combined experience of over 70 years within the fostering community.
The Fostering Foundation was founded by Geoff in 2000, who remains the Company Chairman. Sakina has taken over as CEO, to ensure Geoff could start a well-earned retirement. In 2021 Nita joined the Fostering Foundation as Registered Manager, having extensive experience of managing fostering services.
In addition to ensuring all the vitally important, compliance issues are met, they are there to support the teams. Their wealth of knowledge enables them to assist with any fostering question and also guide and support social workers and new foster families through any hurdles they might need to overcome, always seeking to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people in their care.

I wanted to introduce myself to you as the newly appointed Registered Manager of The Fostering Foundation. I have previously worked for a local authority for thirteen years across many service areas, and before that, I worked in residential children’s homes. I have lots of transferrable skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that I can support with, and build on, the already fantastic work undertaken by The Fostering Foundation, its staff and dedicated foster carers. I am passionate about safeguarding children and ensuring their voices can be heard and am committed to doing everything I can to make sure their, achievable, hopes and aspirations become their realities.

My job by day is to look after the Finances of the company. I have worked with the Fostering Foundation since the day it started, as I often like to say, it’s my firstborn. I have seen the organisation grow to where it is today and I am proud of what we have created.

Danielle

Supervising Social Worker

Fostering has been a major part of life ever since I was a teenager as my parents are foster carers. I have lived within a fostering household, and even though I no longer live with my parents I continue to very much be a part of the support network. Also prior to my role at TFF, I was a social worker within a local authority working with children. So, I have had experience in several roles of the fostering experience for children and young people. Fostering has very much inspired and influenced my life, and I would not change it!

Diana

Business Support Officer

I love my job, I love administration and knowing I can do my bit to help the company. I help as much as I can so everyone else can fulfil their job roles with the best of their ability. Giving the company the best chance to thrive and be committed to the children. I have actually been in foster care myself and I was adopted, so being able to work for this company really meant a lot to me.

Chairman & Responsible Individual

I formed The Fostering Foundation from 2 rented rooms in North London with a big vision and a tiny resource in January 2000. I’ve been with The Fostering Foundation ever since. Unlike any other service or business with which I have been involved, the prime motivation for all Fostering Foundation Staff and Carers is not about money; it’s about doing the best that can be done for children. That’s what makes The Fostering Foundation so special.

Rhona

Supervising Social Worker

Fostering is in my DNA as my dad was a fostered child. I grew up seeing first hand how important caring for children who are unable to live with their birth families is as fostering and adoption was part of my life. Since qualifying in 2007 I have worked as a fostering social worker and I am passionate about playing a small part in helping children succeed and reach their dreams. I am constantly blown away by children’s ability to take a chance on forming relationships with strangers and the commitment, skill and patience foster carers have in helping them to feel safe and learn to trust they will be there for them even when things are tough.
