The Fostering Foundation Team

The Fostering Foundation Team

The Senior Management Team at The Fostering Foundation have a combined experience of over 70 years within the fostering community.
The Fostering Foundation was founded by Geoff in 2000, who remains the Company Chairman. In 2018 Gina joined the Fostering Foundation as Registered Manager, having extensive experience of managing fostering services. Finally, to ensure the continuity of this family managed service, Geoff’s son Will joined the Fostering Foundation in January 2020, to ensure Geoff could start a well-earned retirement.
In addition to ensuring all the vitally important, compliance issues are met, they are there to support the teams. Their wealth of knowledge enables them to assist with any fostering question and also guide and support social workers and new foster families through any hurdles they might need to overcome, always seeking to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people in their care.

Supervising Social Worker

I enjoy supervising foster carers, who do an amazing job and there is no greater job satisfaction than working together with foster carers to achieve the best outcomes for them and the children in their care, seeing children settle and progress and achieve their potential, and feel a sense of belonging to family, all thanks to their carers.

Therapeutic Practitioner

I have worked with the Fostering Foundation since 2011. I was initially employed as a support worker and have since been supported by the Fostering Foundation to train as a play therapist. The most rewarding aspect of my job is working and supporting the children and young people, whether this is a trip to the beach rock pooling, individual play therapy sessions or undertaking life story work, every encounter with our children is unique and rewarding.

I love my job, I love administration and knowing I can do my bit to help the company. I help as much as I can so everyone else can fulfil their job roles with the best of their ability. Giving the company the best chance to thrive and be committed to the children. I have actually been in foster care myself and I was adopted, so being able to work for this company really meant a lot to me.

I formed The Fostering Foundation from 2 rented rooms in North London with a big vision and a tiny resource in January 2000. I’ve been with The Fostering Foundation ever since. Unlike any other service or business with which I have been involved, the prime motivation for all Fostering Foundation Staff and Carers is not about money; it’s about doing the best that can be done for children. That’s what makes The Fostering Foundation so special.

Sherree

Sherree

Placements and Commercial Officer

I decided to take a Social Work Degree after having three children under three, with the youngest being three at the time, and feeling that I was offering a lot of advice to other parents, which could be put to use within a Social Work setting. I believe that bringing up children is the hardest job in the World, and people need a lot of understanding around this difficult task.

Claire R-A

Claire R

Recruitment and Retention Officer

I was a Foster Carer for around 3 years and now having two young children, I knew I wanted to remain within the children’s services field as I am so passionate about every child having a loving, stable home. I know how nerve-wracking it can be making that initial enquiry about wanting to be a foster carer. I want to make people feel at ease, chatting about the fostering process, what our company has to offer and answering any questions they have.

Fostering has been a major part of life ever since I was a teenager as my parents are foster carers. I have lived within a fostering household, and even though I no longer live with my parents I continue to very much be a part of the support network. Also prior to my role at TFF, I was a social worker within a local authority working with children. So, I have had experience in several roles of the fostering experience for children and young people. Fostering has very much inspired and influenced my life, and I would not change it!
