Understanding your attachment disordered child training update

On the 25th and 26th training, Inspire Training provided 2 days of excellent training on, Understanding your attachment disordered child and using PACE in real life, at our Tavistock Office.  Inspire Training Group was established in 2007 and draws on the experience of a number of professionals including Attachment specialists within the therapeutic community, adopters and foster carers. The real life experience of those working on the project is highly valued by the families who receive their help.  One of the founding members, Sarah Naish, is a therapeutic parent of five adopted children.  The course looked at how the children they care for differ from securely attached children and why ‘normal’ behavioural schemes do not work.  Also how to recognise triggers for children, preventative strategies and the impact of certain behaviours on carers. The carers fed back the following “this training was excellent.  The trainer was professional, knowledgeable and had huge warmth.  A pleasure to listen to. I learnt lots!”

They have also set up the National Association of Therapeutic Parents (NATP) an independent organisation to support parents and carers who have experienced developmental trauma.  You can find more information out at their website at https://www.naotp.com/
